Berry Beach Volleyball

Thank you for entering a team in the berry Beach Volleyball Tournament on June 1 and 2. This year's event is sponsored by Martin Marietta, The Volleyball Store, ConAgra, MobileTech Fabrication, Schumaker Screen Printing, and Troy Daily News.

Below are some important details for you to consider.

Team Rosters and Injury Waiver Forms
The enclosed team roster and injury form must be completed before your arrival and turned in at the Players Registration Booth on the day of the tournament. You must turn in the completed roster and waiver to pick up your packet. All participants' name and address must be listed on the injury waiver and team roster forms. Any player NOT signing these forms will cause their team to be disqualified. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must sign the waiver form.

Important Notes
Enclosed are the tournament rules. Read the rules carefully. Please note the following:

• After pools have been determined you will be contacted via email with your team's starting day and time.
• We ask you to bring your own volleyballs for warm up.
• Winning teams must report their win to the registration booth immediately after their match
• Teams not playing will call lines during pool play.

General Rules
All U.S.V.B.A. rules will be followed with the following exceptions:

• Games will start at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday and 9:00 a.m. on Sunday.
• The serve must be played with a pass. No blocking, setting, or attacking the serve will be allowed.
• All matches will begin at their scheduled time. A team not prepared to begin at the scheduled time will forfeit their match.
• There must be an equal number or more females than males on the court
• No two males may be together in rotation
• Warm time will be 5 minutes before the first match played by each team.
• The let serve rule will not be in effect.
• If the ball is contacted more than once by a team not counting the block, a female must contact the ball on any one of the hits before the ball crosses the net.
• Teams will be allowed one 30-second time-out during each match.
• All players or parent/guardian  of players under 18 years of age must sign an injury waiver and must be on the roster before they are allowed to participate.
• The referee's decisions are final.
• There is no centerline; therefore, a player may cross under the vertical plane of the net providing the player does not interfere with the play.
• All teams must register 1/2 hour preceding their first scheduled match. Injury waivers and rosters must be turned in at that time.
• Depending on division, the top or top two teams from each pool will advance to single elimination playoffs.
• Qualification for the playoffs will be based on matches won, followed by games won, then point variance in pool play.
• Playoffs will be Best 2 out of 3 games. The first two games will be played to "25" using rally scoring. The third game will be played to "15" using rally scoring (no cap).
• The tournament director reserves the right to alter the format of the tournament based on time or weather constraints.
